How Snap-On tools is attempting to screw me

Back in 2002 I signed a 3 Year lease for their ShopKey Business Management, Inventory Control, Parts and Labor Guide Software. At that time I made sure that there was a $1.00 buyout at the end of the lease. The salesman Tim assured me that at the end of the lease I could hand them $1.00 for the license and I would get a key diskette that would unlock the program. At that point I would have available to me all the information that I had at the end of the lease. If I wanted to get any further update from that point I would have to pay for them.

When the lease ended I elected to buy what I had for $1.00 rather than signing another lease

I have been going back and forth with them ever since. I called to get the diskette to unlock the program and they told me that it was not an owned version, but a time limited version and If I wanted to continue to use the program I would have to sign another lease.

Snap-on has extended the use of the program 3 months at a time while we were dealing with this. Now the extension has run out again. I am back to Tracking the business the old fashion way. But I feel that after paying Snap-On Tools almost $10,000 I should get something.

At this point Snap-On says that I have to buy two licenses for the program to operate as it was when the lease ran out. One for $3500.00, and another for $4500.00

Here is a copy of the lease, NOTE the $1.00 END OF LEASE PURCHASE OPTION

Here is a copy of the Sales Agreement

And a copy of the Invoice

Snap-On is now saying that the $1.00 buyout is only for the lease, Not for the software. Just how does that work, The lease is for the software.

MY OPINION, DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM SNAP-ON,
THEY MAY TRY THIS ON YOU TOO!!
